Hello GFWC Kentucky!

I am excited to begin this new 2020-2022 Administration as your Director of Junior Clubs with GFWC Kentucky President Teresa Schmidt and our wonderful Executive Committee! Great things are coming our way and I hope to be able to get as much information out to you as possible about GFWC Juniors’ Special Programs: Advocates for Children along with the partners March of Dimes and St. Jude. There are several ways to do online donations and participate in virtual walk/runs across the Commonwealth for both partners. I will get a GFWC Kentucky Team set up for St. Jude within the next week and hopefully will have one for March of Dimes too. When in doubt, you can check the Juniors page on the website and remember it’s not just for Junior members, it’s is for every member.  I do hope everyone will continue raising awareness for Organ, Eye and Tissue donation and continue promoting the Donor Registry. It is something we all know that is truly special to me and as I’ve come to find out, a lot of you too. This is something me, family and friends will advocate and raise awareness forever. I look forward to seeing everyone this summer and then as we begin our Fall Conferences!

Keep an eye out for updates on the GFWC Kentucky St. Jude Walk/Run/Virtual to End Childhood Cancer.

The Walk/Run is September 26, 2020 in Louisville; however, if you can’t attend you can still join our team by donating. Once I have our team set up, I’ll send a link where you can join GFWC Kentucky and make a personal or club donation.  Also, don’t forget that April is Prevent Child Abuse Awareness and Donate Life Month. Throughout the month, we raise awareness, increase communities’ capacity to strengthen families, educate children on their right to be safe, and expand policy makers’ understanding of child abuse. Plant those pinwheels in your yard, put out a sign or share information on social media outlets to help raise awareness for Child Abuse. Donate Life Month is going strong too with different social media events, virtual flag raisings across the Commonwealth, virtual walk/runs and don’t forget to wear your blue and green on

Friday, April 17th for National Donate Life Blue & Green Day.
